Notes: On April 3, Paul & Mal flew to Los Angeles via Paris. The US trip was meant as a surprise for Jane Asher on her 21st
birthday the following day. After arriving in LA a private Lear jet - reportedly hired from Frank Sinatra but bearing an NBC
News logo - flew them to San Francisco arriving after midnight. Later that day Paul & Mal spent some time checking out the city
of San Francisco and to their amazement they witnessed it snowing there for the first time in 42 years!

Both Paul and Mal had brought along Canon 8mm cameras on the trip and documented most of it over the next few days. Sadly Paul's
footage was later stolen by fans but Mal`s footage survived with most of it being commercially released.Paul and Mal`s
sight-seeing took them to places like The Golden Gate Bridge and finally to the Fillmore West Auditorium, where they found
Jefferson Airplane rehearsing, who afterwards invited them back to their Oak Street apartment where Paul played them an acetate
of "Sgt Pepper's". They also attempted a jam but Paul had trouble playing Casady's right-handed bass guitar. At the end of the evening Jack Casady took them back to their hotel.

Mal shot some footage of the jam session but it remained unseen until "Revolver Records" uploaded some of the footage onto
Youtube in 2017. The footage is very dark and you can barely see Paul. Luckily decent photos exist.
