Notes: Numerous TV news & current affairs programs dedicated a lot of airtime to this. Basically there were far too many
broadcasts so I am only listing the longer and better quality items or ones with unique exclusive footage.Many broadcasts
utilised the exact same footage in various edits and with the footage of when Paul was leaving Japan dozens of cameras were
lined up next to one another and captured the exact same footage albeit from a slightly different angle.

Nobody, except on the plane before takeoff, had an exclusive interview with Paul or Linda though Linda did do a couple of brief
press conferences and made some comments to waiting cameras when leaving the jail or Immigration offices during the 10
days.So overall footage of Paul is limited to Jan 16/17 and 25.

Thankfully someone in Japan compiled a lot of TV footage and has made it available which can be found on MCP (Up In Smoke 2015)
& FAB`s DVD`s and a few other rarer releases.

At 3:00 PM on 16 January 1980 Paul McCartney and his entourage arrived at Tokyo Narita Airport for an 11 day concert tour in
three cities: Tokyo, Nagoya and Osaka (January 21 - February 2 1980).When customs officers opened Paul`s suitcase at Tokyo
airport they found 219 grams of marijuana in a plastic bag.Paul was arrested on the spot and was held in jail for nine days
before being deported on 25 January 1980. If convicted, Paul could have faced up to seven years in prison. The scheduled Japanese tour was cancelled.

The next morning (January 17th) Paul was transported to the Narcotic Control Office in Tokyo.
