Notes: On this day in May 1966 The Beatles filmed a number of promo videos for "Paperback Writer" and "Rain" - their new single.
These promos would be for broadcast in America and Europe. All promos were filmed onto video tape.In the afternoon they taped
"Paperback Writer" and "Rain" in black and white for use on "Thank Your Lucky Stars" and "Ready Steady Go" in the UK.After
filming four takes of "Paperback Writer" they then filmed two takes of "Rain".The first take of "Rain" was aired on "Ready Steady
Go".The first and second takes were edited together for screening on "Thank Your Lucky Stars" (aka "Goodbye Lucky Stars").
A brand new remastered edit taken from takes 1 & 2 was issued on "1+" (DVD/Blu-ray, Nov 2015).
