Notes: The Beatles filmed a promotional film for their song "A Day in The Life" at Abbey Road Studios during the recording of orchestral overdubs.
It was all done with a party atmosphere with many friends and relatives present.
A promotional video was made from this session but then the BBC banned the song so this 1967 edit of the promo was not shown during 1967.
According to Tony Bramwell, the 1967 edit of the promo was actually shown at a few sales conventions in the 1960s
but then forgotten about although colour outtakes from the filming appeared in the little seen 1968 film "Watch Out For Your Ears".
Then in 1969 it was dusted off (presumably the exact same original 1967 edit) for a special edition of the BBC2 program
Late Night Line-Up promoting the Beatles' album "Abbey Road" on Sept 19, 1969. However, the audio was replaced with the Abbey Road track, "Come Together".
That was the last time the footage was seen until Feb 11, 1983 when the UK pop music program "The Tube" broadcast
the Late Night Line-Up version of "A Day in The Life" with "Come Together" as the audio.
As far as we know this "Tube" airing was never bootlegged but did float around in collectors circles.
A re-edited & fully restored pristine copy of the video was released on The Beatles "1+"" DVD & Bluray in 2015.
