Notes: John taped a performance of his new single "Instant Karma" for "Top of The Pops".
Two different takes were broadcast on two separate episodes (reportedly 4 takes were actually filmed with the broadcast versions being takes 3 & 4).
In both cases John sang live over a pre-recorded backing track giving his vocals an interesting double tracked sound. "Version 1" (aka "knitting")
had both John & Yoko wearing turtleneck sweaters plus Mal Evans was shown playing tambourine only in this version and "Version 2" (aka "cue card") showed them both wearing jean jackets.
A week earlier "Top of The Pops" had premiered the song using mostly footage filmed for the BBC documentary "The World of John & Yoko"(Which Can Be Found On HMC049).
"Version 1" was broadcast on February 12 and "Version 2" on February 19.
"Version 2 - Cue Card" first appeared commercially on the VHS only "The John Lennon Video Collection" in October 1992
and "Version 1 - Knitting" finally appeared on the "Lennon Legend" DVD in 2003 with an extended audio track
