Notes: Ravi Shankar had been commisioned to write a special piece for the Birmingham Touring Opera Company to perform.
Ravi duly came up with "Ghanashyam - A Broken Branch" (a sort of Indian ballet) which toured Britain in 1989 and overseas in 1990 including performances in India.
George attended an afternoon of rehearsals in Birmingham, England a week before its premiere.
A crew from the BBC news program "Midlands Today" were also there and managed a few words from George and Ravi as they watched the rehearsal.
The available footage is filmed off a TV screen.
